The Avocadoshow for SIRE
At the Netherlands Film Academy, graduating students create 60-second commercials for the SIRE Foundation. Our brief: raise awareness about food waste. This short film gives voice to the inner life of an avocado, dramatizing its long journey across the globe only to end up uneaten. With a darkly humorous twist, it captures the absurd tragedy of food thrown away before its time.
We’ve all let food go to waste at some point, an avocado, a banana, maybe something that traveled halfway across the world just to end up in the bin. Instead of pointing fingers, this story is meant to spark reflection: every piece of food has a journey, and treating it with care is a way of honoring that effort. It’s a reminder that small everyday choices can carry a bigger meaning.

🎞️ This commercial was shot the traditional way: on 35mm-film, a unique experience that adds authentic texture and character you just can't replicate digitally! ✨
